This is a new section for Window Bonnets but but they are also seen in our living and family room sections, since many homes come with at least one slider we felt you might just want to see how our no sew cornice kits address this type of unique window/door. Click on the individual picture of interest or hit the yellow arrow and they will play automatically.
Slider windows present a bit of an extraordinary design challenge. Homes built in the last 5 years generally have that extra wide size. Earlier vintage homes have sliders at 72” or narrower. Either way there is a huge amount of window space to balance with a cornice. Because of this we recommend using at least the 12” high cornice boards.
The 9” high cornice boards should only be used if the slider is narrow, wall bends are near and/or the ceiling is low. Of course, having said that. . . Marilyn’s slider (the last two pictures in this section) uses a 6” high cornice board (must call to order this). In addition to being narrow, the walls were short on either side with an eyelight window above—very unique!
Again they run the gamut of materials, both expense and inexpensive, as in the case of mine, I even used some that was only $1.99 /yd!
