This area--a combined kitchen, family room and dining area--is enhanced by the color combos used in the living room. However, Don and Nancy wanted to pickup the deep blue in the fabric of their dining room chairs and change up the look from the simple elegance of the living room.

 

It is amazing what simple changes are needed to make the same formal look of the living into the more informal setting for this room.

Although a subtle touch, a deep navy blue cord has been added in the top and bottom tuck grooves that ties in the blue of the chairs.  The added gathered “V” is just a bit of fabric from the top & bottom that has been gathered together and secured with a jewlery pin. 

 

Would you believe the  pin is from Walmart!

 

You just never know where you will find that perfect cornice accessory.
